Adele- Double Page Spread

Adele- Double Page Spread

The title is very clear and visible still however portrayed in a creative way as it is fractured to fill in the gaps or overlap each word; the font is nice also. The use of the smaller caption just underneath the title works well as has a slightly different font and introduces the article very well because its persuasive. The way Adele is placed on the right hand side works well as her hair slightly overlaps on to the left hand side of the piece making it look fluent and smooth.

Amy Winehouse Double Page Spread

We like how the image is in a monochrome effect because it matches the colour of the text. The image also seems to be a full background and not all of the image is just on the right hand side, like most examples, however Amy is placed on the right hand side; this makes the overall piece more balanced. The text in this example consists of more of a structure as every piece of text- header, subheading and text- all seem to be aligned which works well.

It is clear that the colours used in this example are mainly grey and black and white. Her facial expressions are quite aggressive which compliments the text and background colours which are quite hard and dark. It also apparent that the text is clear on the left side of the spread however because her hand overlaps slightly on to the left hand side it links the two sides of the piece.

This double page spread is quite different to the other examples I have researched because firstly the model is placed at the bottom of the page, in a diagonal line. This works well because it makes the piece rounded and cogent. The header is clear and easy to detect due to the significant font size. Also the text is split into two columns which is potent due to the fact it doesn't overwhelm the reader, allowing them to read the full article with little force.

This magazine includes an interview with the director of the docmentary 'Amy'. The documentary 'Amy' is all about the life of Amy Winehouse, and it takes about the struggles she dealt with and the positive times in her life too. Most which us as an audience was not aware of. The newspaper article includes emotive language which would make the audience feel sympathy. For example "Amy was treated as something from the gutter" This headline will capture the audiences attention and encourage them to keep on reading the article to find more. Also the article also suggests that the director of the documentary found inspiration through the documentary of the life of "Senna".

The article includes details of what is going to be in the documentary and therefore gives us an insight on what to expect. However it does not give too much away, as it only needs to encourage the audience to go and see it rather than tell them all about it so they feel they no longer need to go and watch it as they already know what will happen.

This newspaper article is all about the return of "Manchester's music legends Stone Roses". The documentary on the Stone Roses is due to be released and therefore this article targets the audience so that there is already a audience for the release.

The article also includes the date of the release of the film, so that the reader is aware of when the film is released. By promoting the date, this increases the chances of the numbers of viewers the film will get when it is released. The article also includes parts about the Stone Roses however it is used in a way to promote the band, to demonstrate how big and popular the band was. For instance "The Stone Roses, whose 1989 eponymous debut has been widely regarded as one of the best rock albums ever".

One of the people involved in the documentary, described is as being "part of something tryly remarkable" and described Stone Roses as his "all-time favourite band". He also described the documentary as not "a history lesson, nor is it a two hour concert film". This suggests that the documentary is full of exciting things and that it is one to see. It also reasures the audience that the film will be interesting and that it will be worthwhile.
